what is Safety operating procedures for various workshop machinery and equipment? | Longhua

August 22, 2024

1. The layout of mechanical equipment should be reasonable, which is convenient for operators to load and unload workpieces, observe the process and remove debris; at the same time, it should also be convenient for maintenance personnel to inspect and repair.

2. The strength and rigidity of mechanical equipment parts should meet safety requirements, be firmly installed and have no frequent failures.

3. According to relevant safety requirements, mechanical equipment must be equipped with reasonable, reliable and non-operational safety devices. For example:

(1) Rotating parts should be equipped with safety protection devices such as protective covers, protective baffles, and protective railings to prevent twisting.

(2) For parts that may cause dangerous accidents such as overpressure, overload, overtemperature, timeout, and overtravel, safety devices such as overload limiters, travel limiters, safety valves, temperature relays, and time circuit breakers should be installed so that when dangerous situations occur, the safety devices can eliminate the danger and prevent accidents.

(3) When certain actions require warnings or reminders to personnel, signal devices or warning signs should be installed. Sound signals such as bells, horns, and buzzers, as well as various light signals and various warning signs are all such safety devices.

(4) For certain parts whose action sequence cannot be reversed, an interlocking device should be installed. That is, an operation must be performed after the previous operation is completed, otherwise the operation cannot be performed. This ensures that accidents will not occur due to the wrong operation sequence.

4. The electrical installation of mechanical equipment must meet electrical safety requirements, mainly including:

(1) The power cord must be installed correctly and there must be no damage or exposed copper.

(2) The insulation of the motor should be good, and its terminal block should be protected by a cover to prevent direct contact.

(3) Switches, buttons, etc. should be intact and live parts should not be exposed.

(4) There should be a good grounding or zeroing device, and the connected wires should be firm and not disconnected.

(5) Local lighting fixtures should use 36V voltage, and 110V or 220V voltage is strictly prohibited.

5. The operating handles and foot switches of mechanical equipment should meet the following requirements:

(1) Important handles should have reliable positioning and locking devices. Coaxial handles should have obvious length differences.

(2) During operation, the handwheel can be separated from the rotating shaft to prevent injuries when the shaft rotates.

(3) The foot switch should have a protective cover or be hidden in a recessed part of the bed to prevent dropped parts from falling on the switch, starting the mechanical equipment and injuring people.

(6) The working site of the mechanical equipment should have a good environment, that is, the lighting should be appropriate, the humidity and temperature should be moderate, the noise and vibration should be low, and the parts, tools and fixtures should be neatly arranged. Because this can encourage the operator to feel comfortable and concentrate on work.

(7) Each mechanical equipment should formulate safe operating procedures and inspection, lubrication, maintenance and other systems according to its performance and operating sequence so that the operator can follow them.
